It's reeaally bad, right?
It always seems to be when you're too hot, and despite the covers being on the floor and you wearing as few clothes as physically possible, you're still too hot. Oh yeah, and you can't open the window, because if you do, the baddies from The Omen/The Descent/Generic-Horror-Movie-That-You-Just-Watched will get in and tear you into little pieces.
Although by 3 in the morning, you're probaby welcoming the thought of a nice gory murder in your bedroom as a break in the monotony.
And it's not like you can do anything productive, either. It's mid-May. Exams are looming. I'm awake at 4am, bored to literal tears and yet still, still, I'm not bored enough to revise. Instead I find it much better to occupy my time colour-sorting my sock drawer. It's one of life's great mysteries, that boredom never leads to productivity. In fact, especially on my part, boredom leads to exactly the opposite. Myriads of worthless, worthless activities present themselves to me in the fog of monotony, activities that have no relevance in any context. Activities such as blu-tacking all my change collection to my wardrobe door, so I would have a literal wall of money. Activities such as teaching myself to draw Manga.
But what can you do? It's all very well to resolve to do something next time you're bored. But at 5 in the morning, things become distorted. Your mind is tricked. Into believing there is nothing you want more in life than a wall of money.
